Fascinating! LeGuin is one of my favorite storytellers. I've read most of her books. So I had to watch your video. It was well worth watching, but it never addressed the challenge raised by the title, The Dangerous Philosophy of Ursula LeGuin. Does that make it clickbait? I'll forgive you. Her stories are full of thought-provoking ideas that have influenced my own sci fi stories, but I don't "believe" any of them. They're just input. In fact, I often argue against ideas she raises, and that improves my stories.

Re 3: Learning styles. I look at my own learning. I learn best visually. I want pictures. Not dense text. Not lectures. Illustrations, graphs, demonstrations, real world examples. YouTube is a great tool for me. In college, I was always terrible cramming for exams. I also teach visually. I stand at the white board and draw circles and arrows, tables and bullet points and flow charts. My books are full of illustrations and tables. I even illustrate my sci fi novels.

My response to the "generalist tax" challenge is twofold: - Work for myself, not for others. I've had several of my own companies over the last 40 years. Mainly consulting firms, where my generalist propensities can flower. - Be happier with less money. I'm sure I could have earned more on a corporate career track, but that wasn't for me. Biden vs. Trump in 2024. Scary! Two candidates that people in their parties don't want to run. But the parties themselves don't have enough balls to go against them. So far. But I suspect both will fade. I don't think Trump will be able to engineer the nomination of a slate of low-quality candidates in '24, like he did this year. It's apparent, if you look at the Republicans that were defeated in primaries by those Trump backed, they would likely have won their races. AZ, PA, GA spring to mind. Unlikely this will repeat in '24. Thus the Dems will have to go up against stronger candidates.
